Pokemon Generations!

Pokémon: Generations is a free, unofficial, 3D Action/Adventure/RPG heavily inspired by both the Pokemon Anime & the Pokemon Video Games. The game will contain both single and multiplayer aspects, along with a story bridging the gap between RBY & GSC.

As progress continues, updates will be available on the game's launcher. If you're interested in helping the project, please note that we're only interested for asset gatherers/creators, however all support is both greatly appreciated and highly motivating, and we're grateful for it.

We'll be updating this page regularly with news, patches, and media, but if you really want to stay in the loop, we suggest that you join our forums.

Also, Mac users can find ports of the latest versions at this link. You'll have to use StuffitExpander in order to extract the contents, but you should be able to play from there.

Yo! So as we're getting back in the swing of things, I've noticed what tends to gobble up a lot of the team's time - animating. We're looking to primarily cover the Kanto region here, so that's 151 Pokemon to have fully animated and put in-game. The putting in-game part I can do, but the animations on the other hand... well, we'd like some help.

I've gotten loads of requests for positions on this front, so I know a handful of you are interested, and that's perfectly fine! We're essentially looking for some folks who can take a single Pokemon, rig it, and animate it. Should you be chosen, either Skatter, Zielan, or myself will send you a list containing ALL animations required for said Pokemon, along with descriptions for the majority explaining what we expect to see. You'd be looking at about 1000 frames worth of animation, spreading across roughly 60-80 individual animations.

After some discussion with the team, it looks like there will be an average of 60 animations per Pokemon. Note that these are ALL animations that each Pokemon will use, so once it's done, it's done. This includes every move available to them, not just four. I'm pointing this out because I want everyone to be clear on the amount of work it'll require.

Now we're only looking for people seriously interested in helping out by doing the following:

1. Can work well with the animation tools provided in either Maya, Blender or 3DS Max.
2. Knows how to rig using either bones or bipeds.
3. Has a decent understanding of IK chains and morph targets (optional).
4. Can improve/edit models to fit rigging needs if necessary.
5. Can complete at least one assigned Pokemon within a month.
6. Can accept and apply constructive criticism from either the forums or IRC, or both.

Nothing too major here, but we'd truly only like those who can commit to a specific Pokemon and deliver with the same quality matched by the ones currently in games. To be sure of this, we're asking that anybody who's interested email pokegentokes@gmail.com with an example of their capabilities. be it a simple clip of animation or a full-fledged demo reel.

If you're accepted, you will be emailed back inquiring as to which Pokemon you'd like to animate, what we have available, how fast you can do it, and the animations required. Apologies for the formalities, but I just want to be clear that we're taking this semi-seriously, so only email if you are certain you can meet the demands of the project.We'll do our best to answer any questions you may have either on Mod DB or the forums (wherever you're reading this). Hopefully with your guys' help, we can make the best Pokemon fan-game to date! Happy animating!

One thing I ask from future applicants is that you submit your examples of animation as a YouTube video. Unfortunately, we won't be responding to you unless you have an example of work that meets the standards we're looking for. Lucky for you, that's not too high a bar to reach at all!

Anyhow, thank you to all that are helping out. It's a daunting task, but we'll get there eventually!

Pokemon movie 14!

In the Pokemon Black And White movie we follow Ash, and his new friends Isis and Cilan, as they head towards Eindoak Town in the Unova region to take part in the town's battle tournament. When they arrive at Eindoak Town Ash and friends are told about the legendary Pokemon Victini.

Throughout the competition, the invisible Victini helps Ash (without his knowledge) by making his Pokemon stronger. Then, with the help of Cilan's macaroons, Victini makes itself known to Ash and they become friends.

Then Ash and friends meet up with a man named Damon who claims to be one of the descendants of the Kingdom Of The Vale. He explains the legend of the Dragon Force and how it was disrupted after a war broke out between two princes that destroyed the Kingdom.

The King used the power of Victini to save the Vale by moving the castle (known as the Sword Of The Vale) to another location. Damon wants to use Victini's power to recreate the Kingdom Of The Vale with help from one of the legendary dragon Pokemon he has befriended (movie specific).

Damon manages to kidnap Victini and forces it to use its power to move the Sword Of The Vale back to its previous location. But things start to go wrong as the Dragon Force is disturbed.

When I first heard the new Pokemon movie was going to be released as two different versions I was sceptical. Fortunately, like the games, the differences between each are only minor and the outcome is very much the same, but there is just a slight difference in the story.

Some scenes are different: for example in the Black movie, Ash sees a Mandibuzz at the start of the adventure but in the White movie he sees a Braviary. Both films are available together in a boxset which includes a Pikachu card from the Next Destinies set of the Pokemon Trading Card Game.

I really enjoyed this movie and I'm glad they are both combined in a boxset so I didn't have to fork out for the same film twice. Despite my scepticism I liked the differences between the two movies. If I had to choose between the two I preferred the White movie as it had a shiny Hydreigon in one of the scenes.

Throughout the story I really felt the bond grow between Ash and Victini. Victini is one of my favourites from the new generation of Pokemon so this film gets a big thumbs up (and victory sign) from me.

It's one of the toughest decisions you ever have to make in gaming. Water, Fire or Grass? Which Starter Pokemon will you choose? It's hard enough picking between three but you've chosen your top five Starter Pokemon of all time. here they are.

5. Cyndaquil

This Pokemon Gold and Silver Starter is a Fire Mouse, capable of defending itself with the flames rising from its back. Having said that, those with a puerile sense of humour might suggest that it looks like he's lit one of his own trumps. Anyway, Cyndaquil also stars in an episode of the anime called Good Quil Hunting and that pun is as good a reason as any for including it in our top five. Its evolution is one of the biggest transformations in Pokémon as it evolves from a Fire Mouse into a Volcano Pokemon called Quilava. Sadly, there is no sign of lava on this Pokemon, just flames rising from its head and bum. Sorry, I mean back...

4. Snivy

Okay, Pokemon Black and White Starter Snivy wasn't far behind Oshawott. No one liked him when his name was revealed, but that's only because the Internet, in the infinite wisdom of its hive mind, had decided that he should be called Smugleaf. Rather cruel, we think and probably thanks to this admittedly somewhat supercilious-looking Pokemon's upturned nose and the faintly superior smile that is permanently on its mug. No one was complaining when it eventually evolved into Serperior, though.

3. Oshawott

While Mudkip looks positively delighted to find itself couped up in a ball, Oshawott appears to be more phlegmatic about his lot. Is it of a generally grumpy disposition, or does it just have a downturned mouth giving it a perpetually morose demeanour? Who knows. Either way, it hasn't affected the popularity of this Sea Otter starter one bit, who beat Black and White candidates Snivy and Tepig (who missed out on the top five altogether) to come third in this top five. That ought to cheer it up a bit...

2. Mudkip

Is there a cuter Starter Pokemon than Ruby and Sapphire Starter Mudkip? With its orange starry gills, oversized Mohawk (yes, we know it's technically a fin) and huge happy grin, it looks so adorable that you just want to take it home in your pocket. You might want to wash your coat afterwards as it might be smelly - Mudkip is a mud fish, after all. When it evolves, it looks even happier, but nothing beats the feeling of opening the Pokeball and seeing Mudkip smile back at you.

Nintendo 3ds's PoKeMoN!!

 

Pokemon's back. Of course it's back—it's one of Nintendo's biggest cash cows. Every few years we see a new Pokemon generation that includes over a hundred new Pokemon, a handful of older ones, and the exact same formula of the previous games. This time the generation is Pokemon X and Y for the Nintendo 3DS$249.99 at Diapers.com. Yes, it's formulaic. Yes, it hits all the same notes as previous Pokemon games. Yes, it's barely changed mechanically. But you know what? A great series doesn't have to change much, and Pokemon X/Y are must-buy titles (well, title; you don't need both) for $39.99 (direct). This is the best-looking Pokemon game yet; it makes your Pokemon battles actually look like the anime. So what if not much else has changed?

Editors' Note: This review is based on a playthrough of Pokemon X$34.35 at Amazon. Pokemon Y$31.71 at Amazon is effectively identical, except for some of the Pokemon available.

3D MakeoverPokemon were barely animated sprites in the main titles for over a decade, and now they're cel-shaded, 3D characters that come to life on the screen. The Pokemon look and move like they're from the anime, a far cry from the sprites of previous games, and while attack animations and effects are still limited and often just appear as waves of particle effects, there there's enough variety in animation and action to make Pokemon battles actually seem like battles from the anime and not just two pictures of Pokemon shaking at each other. This is a massive upgrade over earlier Pokemon games, and a welcome change.

The overworld is rendered in 3D (though strangely not displayed in 3D on the 3DS screen) like in Pokemon Black/White and Black/White 2, and it generally looks very good as well except for a few frustrating camera issues. The 3D camera tends to get cinematic in certain caves and in Luminoise City, the large hub city in the Kalos region, and it can make navigation much more disorienting than if it was the more conventional top-down view used in other towns and open areas. If you want to navigate Luminoise City, it's easier to spend the 1,000-odd Pokebucks and hire a cab to take you where you want to go.

Sound didn't get nearly as much of an upgrade as the graphics, but it did see a notable change with the series' mascot. Nearly every Pokemon has the same type of synthesized growl, scream, or shout as every Pokemon in every previous game has, but Pikachu (which you can now catch easily and early on Route 3) is now voiced with the same cute "Pika!" sounds it makes in the American dub of the anime. It's small, but adorable. Like Pikachu.

MechanicsCombat is nearly the same as every other Pokemon game. Your Pokemon has four moves of different types based on its own type (Normal, Fighting, Psychic, Fire, and others) and a handful of other characteristics and abilities that determine how it fights. You take turns with other trainers or wild Pokemon to make the opponent faint or weaken a wild Pokemon enough to catch it. If you've played a Pokemon game before, you know what to expect.

Two significant changes to the mechanics can shift how you play, and a few other tweaks give the game more variety. There's now an additional Pokemon type, Fairy, which further complicates the elemental rock-paper-scissors strategy at the core of the game. You can also temporarily evolve some of your Pokemon with Mega Evolutions that give them Super Saiyajin (or, if you prefer, Digivolved) forms that enhance their stats for a fight. These forms require special Mega Evolution stones you have to hunt for, and not all Pokemon can Mega Evolve. There are also Horde battles with wild Pokemon, where one of your Pokemon is surrounded by five weaker wild Pokemon and has to attack them one at a time or use certain skills that affect all other Pokemon to hit them.

Pokemon X/Y gets started faster and makes things easier than in previous Pokemon games. To start, you get your starter Pokemon, Pokeballs, and Roller Skates (the equivalent to Running Shoes) almost immediately and before you even meet Professor Sycamore, the Pokemon Professor of the Kalos region. There are fewer and faster tutorials, which means experienced Pokemon players can jump in much quicker. You also get the Exp. Share item early, and it's much easier and simpler to use than in earlier games. Instead of a held item that splits the experience you win between the active Pokemon and the Pokemon holding the item, it's a key item you can toggle on and off that splits experience between the active Pokemon and all other Pokemon in your party. This means you can level up other Pokemon besides your main ones much faster and you don't have to juggle items between them.

The story is minimal and almost identical to every other main Pokemon series game. You wander around a region (in this case, the France-inspired Kalos region), battle through eight Gyms and defeat the Gym Leaders to get badges, fight the Elite Four and the Champion at the Pokemon League, and while you do it thwart the plans of a nefarious Team that wants to destroy the world and rebuild it. This time, your criminal organization of the generation is Team Flare, but you can feel free to call them Team Failure. They're silly at best and downright stupid at worst, and the pseudo-philosophy of their evil plan seems so tacked on and random that two criminals chasing a ten-year-old for years to get his fairly common Pokemon makes more sense. You don't play Pokemon for the story.

What to DoIt's easy to get distracted catching Pokemon, and there are plenty of non-story activities you can enjoy while playing the game. The new Super Training and Pokemon-Aime menus let you play minigames and respectively train your Pokemons' stats and happiness anywhere you are. You can't show off your Pokemon in contests anymore, but you can make promotional videos of yourself as a trainer, work in hotels, sit in cafes and see rare Pokemon, and perform battles, trades, and other activities to get items.

After you've beaten the Elite Four, there are still plenty of things to do in the Kalos region. You can find several legendary Pokemon in addition to the main game legendary Pokemon (Xerneas for X, Yvetrai for Y), and another town is unlocked where you can use the Battle Maison and Friend Safari. The Battle Maison is like the post-game battle settings in previous Pokemon games, where you can form teams of three non-Legendary Pokemon de-leveled to 50 for each match and have a purely strategic endurance run against other trainers. Friend Safari lets you collect rare Pokemon based on your Friend Codes. Each friend you register becomes a different safari where you walk around a small patch of grass and catch up to three Pokemon, depending on if they beat the game and have been online when you are online at least once (otherwise there are only two). The Friend Safari Pokemon include some highly sought after Pokemon, including the first and sixth generation starters, Ditto (useful for breeding), and several Ghost and Dragon-type Pokemon you wouldn't be able to catch otherwise.

Online options are of course plentiful. You can trade and duel with people online if you exchange Friend Codes or locally, and Friend Safari makes Friend Code collecting surprisingly addictive. You can send messages to each other and even give special O-Powers that give temporary boosts to yourself or other trainers. You can't trade Pokemon from the previous generation to this one, but that feature will be offered in December when Nintendo launches the Pokemon Bank and Poke Transport services.

Pokemon X/Y doesn't change much besides graphics because it really doesn't have to. The Pokemon formula still holds up as fun, accessible turn-based RPG that focuses on collecting more than story. The graphical updates in combat are great, finally giving Pokemon the action and animation they've needed for over a decade. There aren't many surprises in the game and the addition of the Fairy type doesn't change the mechanics in any noticeable way, but it's still one of the best games on the 3DS. It's simply enjoyable.

pokemon crystal review!

     I'm torn as to say whether Pokemon Crystal was a step in the right or wrong direction from Pokemon Red (or generation one in general). And where I end up is almost complete neutrality. In some areas, Pokemon Crystal has given me hope that the designers of Pokemon are listening to their fans and making the correct changes. But for every positive change they make, it seems like they make an equally negative change. Let's get into it, shall we?

No. He didn't. He played Goldeneye and Smash Bros. at his friend's house sometimes, but that was it. So far, bad start.

     First, let's talk about the addition of Pokemon. This was something that I was very skeptical about. There are 150 original Pokemon, and that's already a lot. So many team combinations and such. So when I saw that they had added 100 more, I was wondering if that was even necessary, especially when I saw that so many of them were so uncreative. Granted, a portion of the original Pokemon weren't that creative either, but they were just so fun. Bulbasaur is inspired. So I started up my game and picked up a Chikorita. I picked it because it appears in Smash Bros. Melee. Sadly, Chikorita just doesn't have the inspiration that Bulbasaur had.

A banana, a bay leaf, and a...umm...well there's a flower and antennae...

     Like a lot of new Pokemon, the creatures were either too closely related to existing creatures or too plan and unoriginal. Chikorita is a blob with a leaf on its head that grows up into a miniature dinosaur, but wasn't that the point of Bulbasaur? Now we're just repeating ourselves. But as I started to play, I found that while a lot of the new pokemon felt like the same old thing, I found it somewhat relieving to find new Pokemon since it distinguishes the game from the previous one. If I were still finding pidgeys, ratattas, and caterpies, I'd be essentially playing the same game. So while I'm not really a fan of many of the new Pokemon, I appreciate the change.

Wild Sadbear doesn't want to fight. Wild Sadbear wants to talk about his feelings and the fact that he has a target on his stomach.

     So what about the story? Is it new? Is it unique? Is it amazing!? No, not really. It's basically the same as the first generation. You're a kid that gets his first Pokemon and sets off to become a Pokemon Master and catch 'em all. It seems neat at first because the gyms aren't all "I use rock-type! Please don't bring your water doods and pwn us!" but at the same time, now they're a "flying-type" gym, which still has a definite weakness. But at least the weaknesses aren't so obvious. I still can't remember all the weaknesses. More types have been combined in this Pokemon and I just can't remember them all until I get hit by something. "Ohh, riiiight, fighting is weak against flying!" I always try to build a team that has a strength to all types of Pokemon, but this game really stresses that there are a ton of different types and combinations, so I get lost often and find out that all it takes is one fire-type and my whole team is going down hard.

     In some regards, the story is better. There's more going on with Team Rocket, who is trying to stay alive despite the fall of their leader, plus there are several side stories happening, but the main story is probably even less than the prior game. There's no Gary/Blue/Rival in this one. No, instead there's a kid who stole a Pokemon and just likes to be evil and fight people with his powerful Pokemon. At least before it was Ash vs Gary and both were striving to be the best Pokemon trainer in the world. But the rival in this game just kinda pops up, sometimes fighting you, sometimes not, and then he leaves. So again, it's kind of a wash in terms of being better or worse than generation one. One thing I will say that I enjoyed, however, was that after you beat the game, you have the option to go back to the generation one region of Kanto and challenge the original eight gym leaders, plus you can find Ash and fight his insanely powerful Pokemon. It's a definitely great after-plot with powerful fights, even though the original trainers all seem pretty weak after you've already defeated the Elite 4.

We're not any stronger out in Johto. I'm the guy that beat the Elite 4. Ofcourse I can beat you with my Magneton tied behind my back.

     One thing this game added was the idea of "holdable items." You can give your Pokemon some items that they can hold, some of which act as accessories and some that act as healing items to either cure status or health. It's a nice addition, though I rarely gave my Pokemon non-accessory-like items to hold. It seems that if I give them something to cure poison, then they'll use it when they get poisoned by a bug-type pokemon, then after they're cured, they...get poisoned again. So it really seemed to me like a way to waste a ton of money by buying tons of items to hold and have used up instead of my normal strategy of "Suck It Up, Pokeslave!" It seemed like I was always curing Pokemon outside of battle just like before, so there isn't a ton gained from that. But still, the few accessory-like items I found were helpful, like the Quick Claw that gives you a better chance to strike first or the Exp. Share, which has changed from generation one and instead of being completely pointless, it is absolutely awesome. It can really help a low-level Pokemon level-up without requiring the normal start-and-swap method that is so time-consuming and detrimental to your Pokemon's health.

     Okay, now for the best and worst changes in Pokemon: Generation 2. The best change for a technical (see: crazy) person like myself: Pokemon abilities don't (all) require that you go into the menu to use them. Yes, it's true, you no longer have to go to your menu to use all those dang HMs. Something you can cut? Just examine it and it'll ask you if you want to use Cut! Yes! Want to use Surf? Talk to the water! Yes! This is what I meant before when I said that they were listening to the fans, because although I never said anything to 'em, that was my biggest gripe with the original game. I hated going into my menu every time I wanted cut something or use Strength or whatever. Sure, you still need to do it for Flash, but that's only one, rarely-used HM.

YESSIR I DO!

     And now for my biggest gripe with Pokemon Crystal, and it's again related to HMs. They improved them so much by just not making us open up the menu, find our Cutter/Surfer/Strengther/Whateverer, but know what they also did? They added more HMs! If you read my review for Pokemon Red, then you'll know that I didn't care for HMs much and I just made a Pokeslave out of my one-of-a-kind Lickitung. Well now, there are more HMs! Not just the five, but now a pointless Waterfall and Whirlpool HM!

So...7 now? Really? Really, Pokemon, really? As if Flash wasn't useless enough?

     Again, I appreciate that HMs can help delay your progress through the game and direct you where to go. "You can't go here, you need to be able to go up waterfalls to go here, silly!" But seriously, there weren't enough ways to limit this? I wouldn't have a problem with this if I were using HMs on my useless character--

Okay, maybe the jetback is asking too much. . . .

     --but each of my Pokemon can only hold four moves. If I'm carting around 7 HMs all the time, then of 24 possible moves, I'm down to only 17. Plus, only certain Pokemon can use certain HMs, so I basically have to choose my team around who's carting around these abilities. Maybe it was intended for you to take certain Pokemon to certain areas or limit your capabilities, but that really removes a lot of the fun for me. I'm trying to make one team that's capable of taking on any type of Pokemon; that's fun for me. But now, I'm severely handicapped in what kind of team I can put together. Sure, a lot of HMs were improved to be some of the best attacks now. I believe the game says that Surf is the best water-based attack, which is fine, but if that's true, then why have any other water attacks? They're taking out the customization-aspect of the game. Maybe you're expected to have "traveling Pokemon" and "gym-fighting Pokemon" or something, but that's not how I like to play.

     One final area of vast improvement was in the item-carrying abilities. There aren't limits anymore. No more "You found something awesome, but you can't hold any more items!" and needing to stash it in your box. Now they've sorted the item menu into categories or "pockets" and you can carry as much as you want. Easy to find, no limits to what I can carry? Thank you, Pokegods.

Uh huh huh huh. Balls Pocket.

     There is a lot of complexity that has been added to this game, including "happiness" and "breeding" and so many insane concepts that I just try not to even touch. Pokemon was always a timesink, but now Pokemon has gone to a new level of soul-absorbing. Maybe some people really like the idea of always being able to improve and challenge their friends by finding that perfect Pikachu with the right stats, but that just seems like way too much to me. There are even time-critical events in this game, and by that I mean real time. Some Pokemon can only be caught at night and you can only use the boat on Wednesdays and weird things like that. Maybe somebody finds it fun, but I find it annoying. Some people can only play at night or only during the day because they're busy or their parents don't let them play unless their homework is done or whatever, and kids shouldn't be penalized for having a schedule. "But Mom! If I don't play today, then I have to wait a week to get to Kanto!" They're just proving with this game that Pokemon is not a game, it's a way of life. If you don't live and breathe Pokemon, then you're doing it wrong!

     There's so much I can say about the tiny, tedious aspects of Pokemon: Generation 2, but I'll sum it up as follows: If you enjoy spending long periods of time trying to master something and are able to play the game at any and all times of day, then you'll like this, and I won't judge you (much). For me though, as an avid "anti-grinder" and anti-time-waster, I just can't do all of these things, so a lot of the additions they made are probably great for some people, but not for me. It might help if I had friends to play Pokemon against, but if I did have somebody to play against, I still wouldn't be breeding to get that perfect Pokemon, catching all 250 Pokemon, grinding them all to level 100, or going to hell and back to get one friggin fire stone to evolve my dang Growlithe oh my God why are they so rare I just wanted a decent fire-type Pokemon is that so much to ask!?! No, instead I would just play against my friend and whenever they win, I'll just tell them that they won because I have a life, and they are nerds. Fairy types!!

With the new Fairy Pokemon type being revealed, one has to wonder what older Pokemon will either be changed to Fairy type or will have it added to their base type. Below are a few Pokemon I feel would fit the type, and why.

Do note that I am using information from the games' Pokedex entries and not referencing the anime. What happens in the anime and movies doesn't necessarily pertain to the attributes of Pokemon in-game (See: Ash's Pikachu being so imba).

Most of the Pokemon below first made their appearance within the first three generations of games. Later games in the series cut down on the more fantasy or supernatural Pokedex entries, and some that could potentially be Fairy Pokemon already have two types. Celebi is included in this list despite currently being of two types, which I explain below.

All images and Pokedex information have been taken from Pokemon Database. I am no Pokemon expert nor do I have any special information that you don't. This is simple speculation, and it's certainly less confusing than whatever's going on with Mewtwo.

Cleffa, Clefairy, and Clefable

These three are perhaps the most fitting of the new Fairy type. Even if you ignore their names, their species is specifically listed as "Fairy Pokemon" and the Pokedex entries between them mention at least one of these peace-colored bundles of cute have been seen bounce-walking on water, appearing to be flying, collecting moonlight with their wings, and riding on shooting stars.

Igglybuff, Jifflypuff, and Wigglytuff

Though their Pokedex entries don't mention much in the way of being mystical creatures, these three also seem to be prime candidates for the Fairy type. Igglybuff with its marshmallow body, Jigglypuff with its amazing vocalabilities, and Wigglytuff's legendary softness may point to these Pokemon having some Fairy in them. [Edit: Jigglypuff has been confirmed!]

Vulpix and Ninetails

These two are not the most obvious Pokemon to be prime Fairy type candidates, and Vulpix may not be one at all. However, since Ninetails evolves from Vulpix I have paired them together. Ninetails is very explicitly described as a supernatural, magical creature in his Pokedex entries. He is based off the Japanese nine-tailed fox of legend.

Happiny, Chansey, and Blissey

 

Though none of these Pokemon have what may be described as "magical powers" in the Pokedex, Chansey and Blissey's eggs both have healing properties. Blissey is also capable of sensing a person's sadness from "however far they may be".

Mime Jr. and Mr. Mime

The evidence that these two could possibly be Fairy Pokemon is fairly slim, but you have to wonder how a whole species of Pokemon is capable of looking and acting like humans. Though there are certainly other Pokemon that look humanoid, no other can imitate humans so well. What's more is Mr. Mime is capable of creating invisible walls, though whether this is by mind trickery or being able to vibrate its fingertips varies from one series entry to another.

Togepi, Togetic, and Togekiss

Perhaps the second most obvious line of Pokemon to be Fairy types, just a tiny bit behind Clefable and friends. All three of these Pokemon are said to bringgood luck and happiness, with Togetic even being a Happiness species Pokemon. Togekiss only makes himself known in peaceful regions, spreadingkindness wherever he goes.

Celebi

Celebi holds the power to travel time, and will only make itself known in peaceful times. He also seems to be able to positively affect the growth of plantlife, and has an affinity for lush forests. The only thing that holds this little legendary from being a sure Fairy type is the fact that it already has two types. Would Grass be replaced for Fairy?

Snubbull and Granbull

It's easy to forget these two, but they are both already considered to be of the Fairy species. Their Pokedex entries do not point to that being the case, however.

Luvdisc

Whether you find this Luvdisc to be useless or not, she certainly does have the makings of a Fairy type Pokemon. Luvdisc is reportedly capable of bringing eternal love to those who find it, and it is of the unique Rendezvous species.

Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf

These three are said to hatch from the same egg, and to have given humans the birth of knowledge, emotion, and willpower respectively. This on its own is enough to validate these powerful Pokemon to be Fairy types, but their power may just be too much to justify as such for the time being.

Audino

Audino is notable because of its hyper-sensitive hearing, which is strong enough to serve as a sort of radar around the Pokemon's immediate area. This in itself isn't proving, but Audino's ability to use its feelers to tell how a person is feeling or whether an egg is close to hatching or not may point to this Hearing Pokemon getting an injection of Fairy type. Its look certainly does fit the part. [Thanks to commenter pierce_2648 for the reminder!]

Cresselia

Cresselia is one of the few Pokemon that almost certainly look like they fit into the Fairy type. Aside from the aurora on her back and her looks, Cresselia's feathers are said to bring anyone holding one pleasant dreams. This Pokemon's connection with the moon may also be telling, as her feathers and head shape are meant to represent a crescent moon. [Thanks to commenter zapdos_2612 for picking this up!]

As mentioned at the beginning of the article, there are some other currently available Pokemon that may end of being Fairy types, but the evidence to back those up is even thinner than that you read here.
